DemeCakes Policies & Procedures

All desserts are pre-order no same day orders. No in-store shopping. Pickup and Delivery only after the dessert(s) has been made.

Regular desserts: Orders need to be place at least 2 weeks in advance.

Custom Cakes and Cupcakes: Custom cakes, cupcakes and large orders needs to be place at 1 month in advance. We do not use fondant only buttercream. Orders can not stay st the bakery no longer than 2 days, if your order is not picked up or delivered after two days the order will be thrown away.  Also we do not ship custom cakes only basic cakes. 

Before placing an order please call and get a quote with one or our team members because by doing this it will alleviate unnecessary orders.   The order form is for placing actual orders not using it for a quote or inquiring form. So after getting a quote and your still not sure please do not place the order until you know that you are ready to purchase. Also if you place the order and it’s not paid within 1 hour the order will be cancel. Thank you for your cooperation😊 

Payment is due when order is place for all orders $250.00 and under.  Orders over $250.00 a non-refundable deposit of half of the amount is due the same day when the order is place.  The remaining balance will be due a week prior to pickup or delivery (This only applies if the order was made at least 2 weeks in advance). The payment has to be made on the date that was given or the order will be canceled due to no payment.  We will not be able to create your dessert unless we receive entire payment for desserts under $250.00 and the deposit for orders over $250.00. On Rush Orders the entire amount is due the same day when the order is place. No Refunds.

DemeCakes has a no-refund policy, this pertains to orders that has been placed and received.  This also  includes damages, (once the customer leaves the premises after pickup) dryness of the dessert, etc.  If the customer states that the cake was dry the customer will need to bring the cake back the same day when it was purchase so the cake can be examined for dryness. 

Please provide us with the time of pickup on the order form.  If your time changes on the day of pickup please call or text us your new eta. Once you arrive call or text us and someone will bring your order out to your car. On Saturdays make sure that you pickup at the time that is scheduled if the cake is not picked up be 12:00pm the customer will have to wait until the next business day to pickup their order.

Please make sure that someone’s at home or at the location for delivery.  If this is an event please have the area ready where the cake or deserts needs to be setup. We only do setups for events.  You will receive a text message once we are in route.  If no one’s home or at the location that was given when we arrive, someone will need to pick up the order. 

Customs and Basic Custom Cakes  Instructions 

Storage: The cake should be refrigerated up to 1-3 hours before serving. Remove cake from refrigerator and let sit at room temperature to develop best flavor and texture. Tiered cakes take longer to warm up, so let sit at least 2 hours before serving. Store leftover cake in refrigerator. Cupcakes can be taken out at least 2 to 3 hours. If the venue is warm on the inside, remove it 30 minutes before the event starts. Custom cakes can last up to two weeks refrigerated and uncut.  If the cake has been cut it needs to be eaten as soon as possible. DemeCakes is not responsible if something happens to your cake after it has been delivered or picked up.  Please do not eat any decorations on the cake they are not eatable. Also if you are picking up your cake please make sure that the vehicle is cold..do not leave your cake in a hot vehicle. Again thank you for ordering with DemeCakes 🎂.

Preventing Cakes and Cupcakes from drying out 

To prevent cakes and cupcakes  from drying out make sure that they are properly stored at room temperature. ...once it’s refrigerated put cake or cupcakes in a sealed container to protect it from drying out. Cheesecake always keep refrigerated in a cake container. For pound/Bundt cakes cover with foil or plastic wrap to prevent it from drying out. Again thank you for ordering from DemeCakes.

DemeCakes do provide dessert tasting for our customers. Your order has to be $350.00 or more and a non-refundable fee of $50.00 will be due before the tasting. The $50.00 will include up to 5 different flavors of your choice. If you decide that you want us to create your dessert we will deduct the $50.00 from the cost of your dessert.
